Major Development at Belfast International Airport

July 2010 saw Advanced Parking Solutions complete works at Belfast International Airport as part of a £10 million redevelopment and investment project. A drop off zone which has improved the flow of traffic to the airport terminal has been accomplished.

These developments will ensure that dropping off at the Airport is faster and easier as it is envisaged that congestion will be minimized and extra space has been created for travellers to unload luggage . The new area has 2 lanes with 4 rows of spaces and is double the kerb length of the previous set down facility.

Belfast International Airport remains one of the most competitvely priced airports in the UK and Ireland . A recent WHICH? survey reported that, of the UK top 15 busiest airports, Belfast International ranked as one of the cheapest for parking .

Further Development & Installation at George Best Belfast City Airport

April 2010 saw the completion of a further installation for APS at George Best Belfast City Airport which involved substantial renovations to the car parks on existing equipment and also included the supply of new Skidata equipment . Further additions and development are now in effect regarding Automatic Number Plate Recognition . Car Park Manager Judith Davis had the following to say to APS " Thankyou very much for your help in this project. I very much appreciate the efforts invested. I am delighted with the results- and I am looking forward to offering a great parking service at Belfast City Airport ! " .

APS Win Parking Equipment Contract at Institute of Technology,Sligo

APS have just been awarded the contract at the Institute of Technology, Sligo with the installation of Skidata Pay on Foot and Metric Pay and Display parking equipment.

The Institute of Technology, Sligo has almost 500 staff and 4600 students in an area of 70 acres and 30,000m2 of buildings.

The project consisted of two main areas of parking each having their own unique requirements.

The Institute of Technology now has the option to expand parking controls throughout the remaining car park areas. This can be achieved either by adding more pay and display units at key locations or by the installation of barrier controlled lanes added on to the existing Skidata Pay on Foot System.

Saint Anne's Square welcomes Skidata System

APS are delighted to announce that we have been selected to supply and install Skidata 450 Pay on Foot Parking System to Northern Ireland's first Ramada Encore Hotel. The hotel is situated in the prime location of The Cathedral Quarter in Belfast City Centre and forms a fundamental part of the burgeoning Saint Anne's Square Development.

Implementation of the Skidata Car Parking system began in March 09 and will be fully operational in time for the opening of the hotel in April 09.  This is a very exciting opportunity for Advanced Parking Solutions. Skidata Top of Shopping List at Victoria Square

The greatly anticipated opening of the impressive Victoria Square Shopping Centre in the heart of Belfast has taken place.  The 1000 space underground car park managed by Q-Park is an integral part of the centre.  We were extremely pleased when Q-Park chose APS to supply and install our Skidata 450 Pay on Foot parking system in this prestigious Shopping Centre.  The futuristic aesthetics of the Skidata 450 system complements the modern and customer friendly car park with its bright and open feel.  A theme which continues out into the shopping Mall, making it a pleasant experience from entry to exit.

Over and above the implementation of the Parking System we have integrated with other parties to bring together a fully functional operation.  This includes the Highway signage, internal signage, long range card readers for residents, and pedestrian access via the use of the car parking ticket, fire alarms and the CCTV system where use of the Parking equipment would trigger a camera in the area required.

Altnagelvin Hospital, one of N.I largest hospitals has decided to implement paid parking in designated car parks within the hospital grounds.  APS were awarded the contract to supply and install our Skidata 450 P.O.F parking system.  Due to the versatility of the Skidata product it is equally suited to hospital applications, shopping centres, airports or MSCP'S.  Phase Two is in the process of being installed .

APS enter the Hotel Sector

A new Skidata Pay on Foot Parking System has been installed at the presigious Wellington Park Hotel in Belfast.  This has sucessfully removed a lot of the parking problems being experienced at the Hotel.

Jackson's Hotel in Ballybofey are in the process of building a major extension to enhance the facilities of the Hotel.  Part of this enhancement is the installation of a Skidata Pay on Foot Parking System to insure trouble free access to the Hotel Car Parks by their customers.

Drogheda Town Centre Stay with Skidata

When it came to make the decision to change their car parking equipment Drogheda Town Centre Shopping Centre were more than happy to continue their long relationship with APS.  They ordered the state of the art Skidata 450 system to replace the older series which brings them to the cutting edge of car parking technology.  Work was carried out after hours by our skilled installation team thus avoiding any down time during installation as there is only one entry and one exit lane.

DRD Expand Pay and Display

We are continually working with DRD Eastern, Northern and Western Divisions and have recently installed new

machines in:-

Antrim, Larne, Ballymoney, Ballymena and Magherafelt.

Further Develpopments with DRD/NCP

When N.C.P were awarded the contract to manage the on and off street parking control and enforcement for DRD, APS Ltd were involved in the supply, installation and maintenance of both the P&D with our Metric product and the P.O.F. and Pay at Exit with our Skidata Systems. This is a multiple site operation covering the whole of N.I.  APS cover 1st line maintenance on all the Metric and Skidata equipment with engineers located in various towns throughout the province as well as from our base in Bangor.  This comprehensive cover enables us to give the required 3hr response times.

More Aura Machines for Belfast

N.C.P have ordered new Metric Aura machines for the Cresent area of Belfast.  These are solar machines which will replace the Metric S2's that have been operating successfully for many years now.

We are also installing the Aura machine for Pharmos in Markethill.  To date we have installed the new Aura in Galway for the City Council as an addition to the existing Metric Accent machines and in the Pearse Street Car Park in Athlone.
